Kaylie walked into the school with no smile of her face. She didn't want school to start back up at all. She had alot of friends but most of them moved on her. She was still here in Forks with a few friends.
Kaylie was still major confused from the Thomas thing and everything else going on in her life. She walked to her locked and emptied her bag into it. She grabbed her books for the next class. Out of no-where a slippery spot in the floor came and she fell. All her books flew everywhere.
Kaylie was sitting there on the ground with her books flown everywhere. Her butt hurt because she fell straight on it. "shit." She muttered looking at everything as she scooted against the lockers. A tear fell down her face as everyone walked past her laughing.

Jase stared into the middle distance as people carelessly bumped against him in their hurry to get to lunch. Really there didn't need to be a hurry for lunch--it wasn't very fantastic--but there was. Of course he didn't like school...this would be his last year thank God.
As he walked past a row of blue lockers, Jason noticed that his shoe was untied. Sighing, he bent to tie it. The dumb shoes seemed to untie themselves...Jase was always bent over tyeing them. Sloppily, a bow was made in the dirty black laces of his converse and as he looked up, something caught his eye.
One, the people were thinning. Two, an utterly uncaring sophomore guy kicked over a water bottle; spilling it all over the tiled floor. Three, a girl that had just shut her locker tripped on it. That looked like it hurt.
She scooted herself back against the lockers and cried a little. Jase felt bad for her...and he had nothing better to do. With a sigh he pushed himself up off the ground and crouched beside the girl. "Hey," hesitantly, Jason touched her shoulder. She looked dazed. "You okay?" his tone concerned.

Kaylie noticed a guy looking at her. He walked over to her and crouched down near her. "Hey, you okay?" He asked with a concerned voice and touched her shoulder. She pushed his hand off and looked at his face. "Uh, no." She told him with tears falling down her face. "I'm sorry" she said realizing how mean she had been. "This isnt the best day" She said still looking in his eyes. She still looked at her books spread all over the hallway. She really didn't wanna get them.

Jase was a little surprised when she pushed him away so quickly. She said, "Uh, no." And looked at him like he had a disease. For a moment, Jason wondered whether or not he had remembered deodorant...maybe that was her reasoning...but them he did remember that not only had he taken a shower that morning and put on deoderant, but had also use cologne. When he tried to think of something else, his mind hit a wall. Hmm.
She looked pretty upset. Just as Jase was about to leave (it really seemed like she wanted him to, plus he was embarrassed and a bit angry - go figure) the girl said, "I'm sorry, this isn't the best day." She looked at her books. Jase felt his anger ebb away. Since he was already halfway up he went to gather up her books which seemed to have spread as far as they possibly could.
When he had all of them, he set them beside the girl. Not knowing what to do next Jase ran a hand through his hair. Awkward silence.

The guy picked up all the books and set them by her. It was awkward for a second. "Thank you." She told him raising her eyebrows. She set her books on the other side of her and wiped her tears. It had only been 1 minute since the bell rang to go to class but it was lunch and she really wasn't that hungry at the moment. "Gawd. I'm really sorry for being so mean at first impression." She told him and then stood up. She used his arm to get up but she didn't mean to. "I really am sorry. I feel really bad."She said again knowing that she was apologizing so much. "Uh, I'm Kaylie." She told him.

..::.. J a s e ..::.. ...Sometimes we have to face our fears and not run away... ...Even if the truth hurts... After a too long a time of Jase wracking his brain for something to say...she told him 'thank you'. The hallway had been empty since he gathered her books...that had been the first sound in what had to be two or three minutes. He was embarrassed to think that he jumped as much as he did. Jason watched as she moved the books to other side and wiped away tears. For a guy, Jase wasn't bad at dealing with teary girls. After all he had a mom, older sister and baby sister. Among the three of them, Jase had experienced plenty of crying. Even if some of the crying was over a toy being lost....
Mentally, Jase chided himself for letting his mind wander like that...in the meantime she had started to get up. Jase offered her his arm and she used it to get up. "God, I'm really sorry for being so mean at first impression." Jase offered her a small smile and she continued,"I really am sorry, I feel really bad." Jase would've touched her arm again, it was just something people did but earlier experiences told him it might not be such a good idea.
Instead he stood, and leaned against the lockers. "Hey..." He said and tried on a reassuring smile, "You're fine. Don't worry about it, 'Kay? And it's nice to meet you Kaylie. I'm Jase." Whiteout thinking, Jason reached his hand out for her to shake. Really he had no idea if she would but it wasn't really a big deal one way or another.

"You're fine. Don't worry about it , Kay?" He told her. "Thanks." She told him and then he reached his hand out for her to shake. "Nice to meet you Jase." Kaylie said and then took his hand she shook it and then while still having ahold of his hand she pulled herself closer to him in a hug wihtout thinking. "Thank you for being here. Usually people hate me." Kaylie said remembering back to the beach with Thomas and Erin and a tear ran down her face. That was one thing in her life she could live without. That day was horrible and really embarassing.

Nice to meet you Jase," Kaylie said and took his hand, shook it and pulled herself into a hug. That surprised Jase a little bit but he didn't push her away. "Thank you for being here. Usually people hate me." She sounded very sad...what in the world happened to this girl? he thought passingly.
Jase sighed quietly, not wanting to do anything wrong. Slowly, he hugged her too; feeling awkward but glad to be there for somebody. It'd been a while since he could. He did his best to be reassuring, and patted her back. "No problem at all, I'm glad I could be here. And I'm sorry if this sounds funny...but why in the world would anyone hate you? " Even Jason could hear the concern and confusion in his voice. Why would anyone hate her? She's pretty and she seems nice enough...poor girl.

Kaylie smiled when he said "Why in the world would anyone hate you?" Kaylie blinked her eyes because she got a little dizzy. "Uhm, I don't know. Alot of people don't like me." She said with a sad look on her face. "It's a long story. Ad its kind of... sad in my part." Kaylie told him. "Are you sure you want to waste your time listening to it?" She asked him.

Kaylie wobbled on her feet and Jase put his hand on her shoulder to steady her. He didn't want her falling agian....there was only so much falling a person could do in one day. "Uhm, I don't know. A lot of peole don't like me." She sniffled and Jase pulled back so that he could look at her. Smiling a tiny smile he said, "Now, I have a hard time believing that. And telling your story...you wouldn't be wasting my time. We've got nothing but time and I'd like to hear it." Jase--hoping that she wouldn't get angry about it--moved some of the hair hiding Kylie, away from her face.

"Alright. Thanks. Lets sit down, this is really hard for me to tell." Kaylie said and then sat by the nearest set of chairs. "Okay, So my father, mother and I all lived in Canada for most of my life. Last year my mother passed away. I was sixteen and I just had my sweet sixteen. She came down with a terrible disease and passed away a month after that." Kaylie said with a tear falling down her face.
"My father and me moved down to Forks because he got a job here. I went to school for one year and met nobody except maybe like 2 people. With my mother being dead it was really hard on me. And then this year not long ago maybe a week ago I was at the beach and a really cute looking guy came to sit by me and we talked for a long time and then we kissed. Typical thing that happens except his girlfriend, I guess caught it and she started having a freak attack. it was really wierd. But it was a stupid thing for me to do. I never should have kissed him." Kaylie said wiping the tears coming down from the story about her mom.
"So, yeh thats my story. My mom died and I got kissed by someone that already has a girlfriend." Kaylie said and then started thinking about her mom. It made her start crying. She wiped the many tears falling down. "Gosh, I'm sorry. I'm such a mess." She said wiping more tears falling.

..::.. J a s e ..::.. ...Sometimes we have to face our fears and not run away... ...Even if the truth hurts... "Alright, thanks. Lets sit down." The both of them went to sit in a few extra classroom chairs that were left in the hall. "Okay, lets hear it."
"Okay, so my father, my mother and I all lived in Canada for most of my life. :ast year, my mother passed away..." as she told the rest of her story Jase listened, nodding his head at the right times and making small noises so that she would know he was listening. By the time Kylie was finished, he himself felt sad for her. She had told about her mom dying...and some jerk who cheated with her. Jason found his fists clenched and felt the unexplainable urge to kick the guys ass.
"Gosh I'm sorry. I'm such a mess," She said and started to break down. Jase sighed and went to stand beside her. They only had so much time left to lunch... "You want to get out of here? It's fine if you don't want to skip the rest of your classes...but if I were you I would want to go. So waddoyou say? Maybe we could get some lunch or something." When Jason thought about it...their stories were kind of similar. Both of them lost somone they were close to, even both of them were lost to an illness. Though Jase hadn't been hurt by a girl like she was by a guy.
Kind of, he wanted to tell his story too but he didn't have a clue how to bring it up.

Jase asked her if she wanted to get out of there for the day and skip the rest of the classes. '' I've never done that before, skip school. So I'll try it.'' she told him. '' but wait, we aren't going to be sitting at lunch and your girlfriends going to come up, right?' Kaylie asked with a smile and curiousity. '' I've had that done before and I don't need it done again.'' she finished as she set her books in the locker. Her locker had a picture of her dad and mom. Looking at her mom made her sad again. She kissed the tip of finger and gently touched the picture of her mom. She shut the locker and turned around by Jase. She smiled and looked at him. He was reallly cute, something alot of the guys in this school seemed to lack of. And most all of them that were, had girlfriends or were gay.

But wait, we aren't going to be sitting at lunch and your girlfriends going to come up right? " She asked curiously. Jase grinned, he liked that she could smile about her experiences even though they were sad. "I'm sorry to say that I have done it a few times..." he scratched the back of his head guiltily, but still smiled.
"And you don't have to worry about that...I don't have a girlfriend. Really I don't have any friends." Jason sighed, stuck his hands in his pockets, and watched as she put her things away. He couldn't exactly miss the wistful look from when she saw her moms picture. Kylie looked at it for a few moments, kissed her fingertip and pressed it against the sad photograph.
When she was finished Jase waited for her and then started for the door. It was raining outside but he had an umbrella. "You know what?" Jase asked, squinting into the gloomy weather. "Our stories are kind of the same."

"and you don't have to worry about that. I don't have a girlfriend. Really I dont have any friends." Kaylie heard Jase say. "Well lets hope about the girfriend thing." She said as she remembered Thomas saying he didn't have one. "Sorry about having no friends. I'll be one." Kaylie told him with a smile.
"You know what? Our stories are kid of the same." Jase told her. "Really?" She said as she ran in front of him and opened the door for him. "Do tell.." She had the door open and waited for him to walk out. It was rainy but Kaylie didn't care. Maybe he had an umbrella or something.
